Graham, Head of NPD
Graham’s organisation had asked him to move to China to head up a new production facility. The stated aim for successful completion of the coaching was to transition smoothly from the UK operation across to China, as well as to manage the (potentially strained) relationship with the current GM in China productively. We had three sessions before Graham moved to China and have since had three more via Skype. He built a constructive relationship with the GM of the existing operation in China, who has since retired, enabling Graham to take over the now much larger operation. This is an extremely positive outcome both for Graham and the organisation.
Claire, UK Director of Recruitment
Claire had had rather a baptism of fire into her new, heavily male-dominated organisation and her confidence in her abilities was extremely low (even though she was very skilled and experienced). Her stated aim for successful completion of the coaching was to raise her self-belief and make her a confident, contributing member of the team of HR Directors. We had six sessions over one year. She has since been promoted to Global Director of Recruitment.
Conveyancing firm, Surrey
This company was introducing a new appraisal system and identified a development need for its managers and supervisors in this area. Rather than running a full-day workshop, we delivered a 2½ hour training ‘chunk’ on Giving Feedback. We have since been invited back to run another ‘chunk’ on Managing People.
Stockbroking company, The City
For this organisation, managing relationships and effective communication with their clients was key to their success. We used the Insights Discovery personality profiling tool to identify their own communication preferences and ran a one-day workshop where they practiced flexing their style to match their clients’.
Individuals have created themselves and therefore can re-create themselves if they have the courage and imagination to do so.
