About Me

Julia Philpott has a background in corporate leadership development (Ford Motor Company, Virgin Atlantic, Tiger Beer) and was formerly Head of Coaching for Management Futures, a global coaching and leadership development consultancy.  She has been an executive coach for 15 years.

When coaching, Julia enjoys working with individuals to determine what is truly at the heart of an issue, so that the coaching can be targeted and effective. She believes that every individual’s development journey is unique and respects that uniqueness in the coaching relationship by using an eclectic mix of leadership and psychological models and coaching tools.

The key characteristics of Julia’s coaching style are her warmth, insight and solutions-focus. Clients value that she “listens without judgement and creates a safe space for true honesty”. They also appreciate her sense of humour – the topics can often be serious, but the coaching doesn’t always have to be.

Julia’s experience of being a female leader in predominantly male-dominated environments has made her especially passionate about helping organisations to build diverse leadership teams. As an expert in resilience and overcoming the impostor phenomenon, she particularly enjoys working with women in business to empower them to be (more) successful.

Julia has a Masters Diploma in Executive Coaching, a first class degree in Psychology (OU) and is currently studying for a Masters in Coaching Psychology.

When she’s not doing all that, Julia enjoys running, swimming and hiking and plays the oboe in two local orchestras. She is married to Paul and they have two gorgeous children and two very stupid cats.
